The New Westminster Climate Action Hub is a growing circle of local residents like you—coming together to build a safer, cleaner, more resilient community.
NWCAH is entirely volunteer-led and committed to inspiring solutions to the climate crisis by fostering education, advocacy, and collaboration.
Sapperton to Queensborough, Glenbrook to Downtown, we are neighbours finding ways to make a difference—from urban greening to better transit, from efficient homes to community gardens, from City Council to federal policies.

Meet our teams
Our organization is made up of several teams, each with a unique role in supporting our mission. Explore the teams below to learn what they do and discover where you can contribute your skills and interests.
Outreach Tabling Events Team
This team takes part in a variety of community events around New West. The events offer opportunities to tell others what the Hub is about and encourage them to join us. Our spinning wheel game and our display board open conversations about climate solutions.
Municipal Engagement Team
The Municipal Engagement Team lobbies for climate action in New Westminster. We connect with Council, City staff and community partners on a proactive basis and in response to climate related Council agenda topics. We aim to hold our city government accountable for increased climate mitigation and adaptation measures.
Other Outreach Events Team
We plan and hold frequent events at the New West Public Library and other venues. These include Climate Film Nights and sessions on specific solutions. Use our “Connect” button on our website to request to join our email list so you know about all of our upcoming events.
Climate Art Collective
The Climate Arts Collaborative is a group of NW residents who use arts and performances to break through climate silence and bring climate change into the public conversation. Our goal is to mobilize NW residents to vote for city council candidates who prioritize climate action. To this end, we will hold two Climate Arts Builds this summer to prepare for short public performances, which will be enacted in September and early October.
Municipal Election Team
This team engages in the municipal election by producing a neutral,
non-partisan assessment of candidates through a climate lens. By
evaluating statements, voting records, and campaign platforms, we give voters the facts on where candidates stand on climate issues.
Communications Team
This group ensures our Hub has quality communications, visually and in terms of text so that we invite all New Westies in, encouraging them to become either a member or a supporter. We are in charge of our website, social media accounts, print publications and more.
YOUTH Team
The Youth Team is the Climate Hub’s newest and youngest team, and like many youth, is still figuring itself out! The only thing they know for sure is that they intend to bring new perspectives to the Climate Hub to consider creative climate solutions that are inclusive of as many people as possible.
